Bitkom Akademie listed numerous new certificate courses in October 2026, dominating the continuing education market in terms of visibility and range of offerings. At the same time, TU Eisenfeld launched a new certificate program in AI and Data Mining in September, generating considerable attention.
Universities are also moving: the University of Mannheim launched its Data Literacy certificate in the fall, the University of the Saarland has been promoting a part-time program in child protection since October, and IST-Hochschule announced a university certificate in AI management in the summer. Leuphana Professional School offers an exceptionally broad portfolio of part-time degrees with more than 40 certificate programs. HAWK Hornemann Institute turned to digital micro-credentials in the form of new online courses in early October, while the University of Stuttgart communicated a CAS program on Digital Innovation & Ecosystems. alfatraining and AGEP complement the field with ongoing courses and online offerings with certificate links.
The situation shows a market in which universities and private education providers alike are focusing on artificial intelligence, data, and digital skills. For working professionals, this means a growing selection of credentials, with the decision increasingly depending on topic focus, format, and time commitment.
