Lieferando unveiled a new global brand platform on October 12 and on October 15 expanded REWE's Sofort-Lieferung service in Hamburg. With these moves, the brand shows that in the delivery business it is not relying solely on advertising but consistently pursuing the expansion of partnerships.
REWE had already expanded its Sofort-Lieferung service on September 15 together with Lieferando, Wolt and Uber Eats, creating a partnership that is noticeably changing the market. Wolt announced additional partnerships in October, while Uber Eats again showed its presence in the quick-commerce space. Just Eat Takeaway.com published several Lieferando updates in October and continued to push its brand campaign forward. Euroflorist launched an exclusive partnership for flower deliveries via Lieferando on October 6, and McDonald's Deutschland appeared in a new Wolt campaign. The REWE delivery service invested in refrigeration technology and delivery areas in October, while foodora and KFC Delivery remained in the conversation mainly as benchmark brands.
The food delivery market is thus increasingly shifting from pure restaurant orders toward retail and quick-commerce partnerships. Those who forge smart partnerships with supermarkets and brands and run their logistics reliably are likely to shape this dynamic in the months ahead.
