BBVA México opened the banking agenda with its digital offering and recent mortgage campaigns, while Santander México announced news in mortgages, small and medium-sized businesses (pymes), and digital services.
Banorte made moves in remittances, recognitions, and sustainability, and Banamex continued to rely on its enormous customer base and its promotions. HSBC México maintains commercial activity in products for individuals and businesses, and Scotiabank sustains its presence in credit, accounts, and consumer banking. Banco Azteca retains its massive coverage tied to Grupo Elektra, BanCoppel strengthens deposit-taking and retail lending, and Inbursa remains in private banking, insurance, and retail services. Banregio closes the list with traction in business banking and pymes with regional reach.
Mexican banking thus competes on two fronts: digital and mortgage lending on one side, and mass proximity in consumer and pyme segments on the other.
